Artist Statement
Fundamentally, I am interested in the human body in all its manifestations. I am concerned not only with the myriad forms and movements of the human figure, but also, as importantly, its relationship with its surroundings, and its response to events and phenomena in nature.

The figures I paint do not have "recognizable" faces, and often they are simply faceless. This is so because I believe the presence of a face per se might be a distracting element, taking away from the motional statement of the body.

My figures are constantly in a state of flow or motion, partly because the human body is never static and is ceaselessly changing and evolving, and also because my own lifestyle and character, which are all about restlessness and change, are projected into my work.
