Artist Statement

My current works are themes of earth, sky and water. I record the relationship of these landscape themes which continually provide a changing prop that interacts and separates.  These works float somewhere between real landscapes and abstract color fields.  My interest is less about static scenes and more to do with making color and light move within a single painting or as a series of works.  Each painting is made exclusively with oil on canvas in which many opaque and transparent layers are applied in no particular order.  The result is an image that constantly changes in different lighting conditions.  I hope to provide the viewer with their own personal and every changing landscape.
